Description
HadCM3 Climate Simulation - IPCC emission scenario SRES-B2 contains ensemble data from the Hadley Centre Coupled Model Version 3, developed for the IPCC Third Assessment Report. The dataset models historical and future climate forcings, including greenhouse gases, sulfur, and ozone, consistent with the SRES-B2 scenario. SCIOPS provided this dataset, which was last updated in December 2100.
Use Cases
Analyze projected changes in greenhouse gas concentrations, including methane, under the SRES-B2 scenario over time.
Model the impact of anthropogenic sulfur dioxide emissions from surface and high-level sources on climate forcing.
Simulate interactions between the 19-level atmosphere model and 20-level ocean model for heat and water flux conservation.
Evaluate the effects of the model's new land surface scheme on soil moisture evaporation, freezing, and melting processes.
Study tropospheric and stratospheric ozone forcings and their integration into the coupled climate system.
Strengths
Model developed from the earlier HadCM2 with improvements eliminating need for artificial flux adjustments.
Includes forcings for multiple agents: greenhouse gases, sulfur (direct/indirect), and ozone consistent with a defined IPCC scenario.
Limitations
Specific sample size, row count, and temporal coverage of the simulation data are not provided.
The dataset's last update date is far in the future (2100), indicating potential metadata inaccuracy or placeholder value.
