Annual tropospheric nitrogen dioxide (NO2) maps derived from the Sentinel-5P TROPOMI satellite instrument provide a consistent record for air pollution trend analysis from 2019 to the present. The George Washington University Air, Climate and Health Laboratory produced this Level 3 dataset by oversampling daily observations to a high-resolution 0.01° x 0.01° grid (~1 km²) across the Continental United States. NO2 is a key air pollutant and precursor to ozone and particulates, with vertical column densities serving as a qualitative proxy for near-surface emissions in urban areas.
