A ground-based animal study from NASA investigates visual system changes observed in astronauts. The program used the rat hindlimb suspension model to examine the relationship between cephalic fluid shifts and intracranial/intraocular pressure regulation, as well as effects on visual structure and function. Data includes continuous biotelemetry, tonometry measurements, MRI images, and ophthalmic examinations from both male and female subjects.
