Hourly Ocean Bottom Pressure Measurements at the North Pole (2022-2023)

Hourly ocean bottom pressure and temperature data were collected at the North Pole from August 2022 to August 2023. Measurements were taken by the Arctic Bottom Pressure Recorder - Follow On (ABPR-FO) instrument, funded by NASA's GRACE and GRACE-FO Science Team and supported by PONANT Science. The Physical Oceanography Distributed Active Archive Center (PO.DAAC) performed quality control and annual updates.

Use Cases

• Validate GRACE-FO satellite data products for ocean mass in the Arctic using in situ bottom pressure measurements.
• Analyze seasonal and sub-seasonal variability of ocean bottom pressure from the hourly time series.
