A dataset from the Department of Energy, Environment and Climate Action, last updated on 2026-04-09, that will become obsolete on 15/01/2026. It depicts geospatial boundaries where Sambar Deer hunting is permitted, derived from the PLM25 dataset and supplemented by legislative restrictions. The rules defining these areas were developed in consultation with the Game Management Authority, VicPolice, and Parks Victoria, based on multiple Acts including the Forest Act and Wildlife Act.
Hunters are personally responsible for complying with the Firearms Act 1996, obtaining required licenses, and hunting only within season. The dataset is provided in multiple geospatial file formats (TAB, MIF, GDB, EXTENDED TAB, SHP, DWG, DXF).
