72 ten-nanometer spectral bands in the visible and near-infrared range were collected by the AURORA hyperspectral imaging system at 3-meter pixel resolution. This dataset was developed for coral reef mapping and benthic habitat analysis through a collaboration between NOAA's National Centers for Coastal Ocean Science, the University of Hawaii, and Analytical Laboratories of Hawaii. The project aimed to compare mapping methods using hyperspectral, IKONOS satellite, and aerial photography imagery.
