AURORA hyperspectral imaging captured 72 spectral bands at 3-meter resolution to map benthic habitats around Oahu and other main Hawaiian islands. The project was a cooperative effort involving NOAA's National Centers for Coastal Ocean Science, the University of Hawaii, and Analytical Laboratories of Hawaii. Data collection and processing aimed to develop and compare coral reef mapping methods using different imagery sources.
License terms are unknown. Primary use case is for coral reef mapping and method development; may require specialized remote sensing software for analysis.
