72 spectral bands of hyperspectral imagery were collected for the main eight Hawaiian Islands, focusing on Oahu, with a 3-meter pixel resolution. The data was developed through a cooperative effort involving NOAA's National Centers for Coastal Ocean Science, the University of Hawaii, and Analytical Laboratories of Hawaii. The project aimed to compare coral reef mapping methods and was last updated in the year 2000.
