The Australian Continuous Plankton Recorder survey provides in-situ phytoplankton abundance data to establish a long-term baseline for ocean health. It is a joint project of CSIRO Oceans and Atmosphere and the Australian Antarctic Division, funded by the Integrated Marine Observing System. The data supports mapping biodiversity, detecting algal blooms, and validating satellite remote sensing.
Data is freely available but requires acknowledgement of relevant parties (CSIRO, AAD, IMOS). The listed file formats (AUDIO/BASIC, HTML, PNG) are unusual for this type of data and may be incorrect.
