IMOS Optical Water Type: Satellite Ocean Classification

CSIRO's implementation of the Moore et al. (2009) algorithm classifies ocean surface waters into 8 discrete optical types using VIIRS sensor data from the NOAA20 satellite. This product was developed to extend and maintain the algorithm beyond the outdated NASA SeaDAS package. It provides a standardized method for characterizing water optical properties across the Southwest Pacific and Eastern Indian Oceans.
