The IMOS Ships of Opportunity - Air-Sea Flux Sub-Facility collects quality-controlled meteorological and oceanographic observations from research and Antarctic resupply voyages in oceans adjacent to Australia. Data includes bulk air-sea fluxes and input observations for wind, temperature, humidity, pressure, precipitation, and radiation, processed using the COARE Bulk Flux algorithm. Observations are gathered from vessels like the RV Investigator and Aurora Australis, quality-controlled by the Bureau of Meteorology, and delivered on a near real-time basis.
File formats include PNG, WFS, HTML, and WMS, which may require specific geospatial tools for analysis.
