Australian Vessel Sea Surface Temperature Sensors: Near Real-Time Data

Near real-time sea surface temperature data is supplied within 24 hours from ships of opportunity and research vessels worldwide. The Australian Ocean Data Network manages this sub-facility, which involves five vessels in the Australian Volunteer Observing Fleet and two vessels with newly designed real-time systems. All data are quality assured, placed on the Global Telecommunications System, and fed into operational regional and global SST analyses.
