A 2026 randomized controlled trial by Hsin-Yu Yang compared erector spinae plane block and superior trunk block for analgesia in arthroscopic shoulder surgery. The dataset includes outcomes for 60 patients, measuring postoperative pain, diaphragmatic excursion, morphine consumption, and recovery quality. Results indicate the superior trunk block provided better early analgesia, while the erector spinae plane block better preserved diaphragmatic function.
