Constrained RNA folding predictions for all Caenorhabditis elegans microRNA hairpins and duplexes model thermodynamic end stabilities at physiologically relevant temperatures. This dataset supports a novel computational approach to improve predictions of which miRNA strand is selected for functional loading into Argonaute proteins. The method introduces hard constraints to restrict base-pairing of terminal nucleotides, aiming to better model in vivo duplex end unwinding.
