Description
40,068 refugees and asylum seekers registered with UNHCR in India were assessed for the socio-economic impact of the COVID-19 pandemic. The assessment, led by UNHCR in collaboration with UNICEF and BOSCO, focuses on vulnerable communities whose daily income-based survival mechanisms were disrupted by lockdowns. Data covers demographics, including 47% women and girls and 16% persons with specific needs, and the largest groups are Rohingya (17,772 persons) and Afghans (15,806 persons).
