Description
From August 23 through September 24, 2003, the INTEGRAL Observatory conducted a record-breaking sensitivity survey above 20keV. The catalog contains 60 detected sources with fluxes above 1.5 milliCrab, with the nature of 51 sources identified, including 38 low-mass X-ray binaries. This table was created by NASA's HEASARC in February 2005 based on the original CDS catalog.
Use Cases
Classifying X-ray binary populations based on the 51 sources with known nature
Analyzing source distribution and flux in the Galactic Center region based on the 60 detected sources
Studying high-energy emission spectra based on the 18-60 keV energy range data
Cross-referencing celestial catalogs using the provided source positions and identifications
Strengths
Contains 60 detected sources with a clear detection threshold of 6.5 sigma to minimize systematic uncertainties
Provides known classifications for 51 sources, including 38 low-mass and 5 high-mass X-ray binaries
Data originates from a dedicated, deep survey by the INTEGRAL Observatory with record-breaking sensitivity
Limitations
Column-level documentation is absent; field semantics must be inferred after download
Row count is unknown, which may limit suitability assessment
Data is from a specific 2003 observation; temporal coverage is limited
