Up to 1 gigatonne of CO2 storage capacity is estimated for the Gage Sandstone reservoir in the Vlaming Sub-basin. Geoscience Australia produced this assessment by interpreting and integrating seismic, well, and marine datasets to evaluate reservoir properties and seal integrity risks. The study, part of the National CO2 Infrastructure Plan, focuses on a laterally extensive reservoir over 1,500 km² at depths suitable for supercritical CO2 injection.
