A study from Geoscience Australia applying petroleum systems analysis to understand fluid sources and phase behavior in the Browse Basin offshore Australia. The work integrates source rock property maps, basin-specific kinetics, and burial history models to identify four Mesozoic petroleum systems. The principal source rocks are Jurassic to Cretaceous formations containing land-plant derived organic matter, with most hydrocarbon expulsion occurring from the Late Cretaceous to present.
