Description
A subset of the Integrated Tax System Public Extract (ITSPE) representing vacant property in the District of Columbia. The data is used for assessment, property analysis, and tax billing, storing information on ownership, mailing addresses, and various lot types. The linkage from Vector Property layers to this database is via SSL (Square, Suffix, and Lot), though not all record lots have a direct 1:1 relationship.
Use Cases
Identify and map vacant properties for urban planning based on the 'vacant property' subset.
Analyze property ownership and tax status for assessment purposes based on stored ownership and mailing address information.
Model relationships between tax lots, record lots, and condominiums based on the described SSL linkage and overlay rules.
Strengths
Data is linked to geospatial Vector Property layers via SSL (Square, Suffix, and Lot) identifiers.
Covers multiple property types including Air Rights lots, possessory interest lots, and federally owned lands as described.
Available in multiple formats including CSV, GEOJSON, and via an ArcGIS REST API.
Limitations
Column-level documentation is absent; field semantics must be inferred after download.
Row count is unknown, which may limit suitability assessment.
The description notes complex, non-1:1 relationships between record lots and tax lot data, which could complicate analysis.
Provenance
Source
District of Columbia
Collection Method
