The 2004 Sumatra earthquake was the most lethal natural disaster of modern times. This resource describes a technical capacity-building program supported by the Australian Government, bringing Australian and Indonesian scientists together to produce a modern earthquake hazard map and build sustainable scientific foundations. The talk was presented as part of the Distinguished Geoscience Australia Lecturer series on 23 May 2018.
