1995-98 expeditions established a permanent GPS tracking station (designated 0100/TN01) at Terra Nova Bay, Victoria Land, Antarctica. The station's coordinates were determined with high precision in the WGS84 - ITRF system through NOAA data processing and Doris satellite system surveys. The project was initiated by the SCAR GPS Epoch 96 International campaign and the station has been functioning since February 1998.
License terms are unknown. The relationship between the described historical surveys (1995-96) and the continuous data stream from the permanent station (post-February 1998) requires clarification.
