Manibarathi Vaithiyanathan from the Louisiana State University System investigated the cellular internalization of unstructured D-chirality cell penetrating peptides (CPPs). The work reports a three-fold increase in uptake and a 50-fold increase in stability for D-chirality peptides compared to L-chirality counterparts. Findings highlight a new exocytosis-independent expulsion pathway and the peptides' potential as bio-vectors.
