High-resolution seismic reflection data from the Australian Ocean Data Network, last updated in June 2026, examines regional controls on the Great Barrier Reef's development. The data is used to investigate the influence of glacially controlled sea-level variations, bathymetry, shelf width, and sediment supply since the end of the Tertiary period. It also assesses the role of antecedent surfaces and subaerial processes versus karst processes.
Data files are in PDF and HTML formats, which may require specialized tools or manual extraction for quantitative analysis.
