Eastern Amazon forests in Juruena, Mato Grosso, Brazil were studied to quantify canopy damage and recovery from selective logging. The dataset integrates field measurements of canopy gap fraction and ground damage with spectral mixture analysis of Landsat ETM+ satellite imagery across a 450-km² region. This first regional-scale study, created by ORNL_CLOUD, tracks post-harvest regrowth over 0.5 to 3.5 years, comparing reduced-impact and conventional logging practices.
