Description
Antonio Circiello's repository contains data products from an updated Fermi-LAT analysis of Milky Way dwarf spheroidal satellite galaxies (dSphs). The 9.6 GB dataset includes spectral energy distribution fits files and test statistic profiles for dark matter candidate mass versus annihilation cross-section, covering a sample of dSphs and approximately 6500 blank fields. Data files are stored in CSV, NPY, GZ, and FITS formats.
Use Cases
Fitting dark matter annihilation models based on spectral energy distribution data.
Calculating upper limits on dark matter particle properties using the provided test statistic profiles.
Comparing dark matter signals from dwarf spheroidal galaxies against blank-field control samples.
Analyzing gamma-ray data across a defined dark matter mass and cross-section parameter space.
Strengths
Includes data for a sample of dwarf spheroidal galaxies and approximately 6500 blank fields for comparison.
Test statistic profiles cover 40 logarithmically spaced dark matter mass bins from 1 GeV to 1 TeV and 60 cross-section bins from 10^-28 to 10^-22 cm^3/s.
Data is stored in multiple standard scientific formats, including CSV, NPY, GZ, and FITS.
Limitations
Column-level documentation is absent; field semantics must be inferred after download.
Row count is unknown, which may limit suitability assessment.
Description metadata is limited; actual data quality requires manual inspection after download.
