Libya Subnational Rainfall: Dekadal Indicators and Anomalies

WFP provides dekadal rainfall indicators for Libya aggregated by subnational administrative units using CHIRPS v2 satellite imagery and CHIRPS-GEFS forecasts. The dataset tracks 10-day, 1-month, and 3-month rainfall totals, long-term averages, and percentage anomalies. Updates occur six times per month to transition from forecasts to final observations.

Use Cases

• Drought monitoring by analyzing the rainfall anomaly percentage in the 'rfq' column
• Seasonal trend analysis using 3-month rolling aggregations (r3h) compared to long-term averages (r3h_avg)
• Short-term flood risk assessment using 10-day rainfall forecasts (rfh) when 'type' is set to forecast

Strengths
