Upper Mantle Velocity Model Along Abitibi-Grenville Transect

Seismic data from the LITHOPROBE Abitibi-Grenville transect in Quebec and Ontario, Canada, used to investigate lithospheric structure. A linear array of 28 portable broadband seismographs was deployed from May to October 1996. Research was conducted by scientists from the University of British Columbia, New Mexico State University, and Natural Resources Canada.

Use Cases

• Invert relative P and S wave travel times from 123 and 40 teleseismic events for upper mantle velocity perturbations.
