The Lord Howe Rise submarine plateau in the Tasman Sea, extending about 2000 km long and 300 km wide, is the focus of this dataset. Preliminary geophysical results from surveys, including R.V. Sonne cruise data and DSDP Site 207, describe sediment-filled basins up to 4000 m thick and assess petroleum potential. The data was aggregated by the Australian Ocean Data Network and last updated in 2026.
