Description
Magpie Ultra V0.1 is a dataset of 50,000 instruction-response pairs created by Argilla using distilabel. The dataset was released on February 8, 2024, and is intended for supervised fine-tuning of language models. A newer version, magpie-ultra-v1.0, was announced on November 26, 2024.
Use Cases
Supervised fine-tuning of language models based on the 50,000 instruction-response pairs.
Benchmarking instruction-following capabilities based on synthetic data generation.
Training conversational AI agents based on the instruction-response format.
Strengths
Contains 50,000 instruction-response pairs, providing a substantial base for model training.
Created using the distilabel pipeline, suggesting a structured synthetic data generation process.
Dataset versioning is documented, with a newer version announced on November 26, 2024.
Limitations
Description metadata is limited; actual data quality requires manual inspection after download.
Column-level documentation is absent; field semantics must be inferred after download.
Row count for this specific version is known, but other scale details like file size are unknown.
Provenance
Source
Argilla via Hugging Face.
Collection Method
Created with distilabel, indicating synthetic data generation.
