Seagrass Habitat Maps for Tasmanian Waters Using Satellite and Field Data

Approximately 400 field validation locations using a Benthic Observation Survey System and stereo-video systems were used to map seagrass beds in the Furneaux Group of islands, Tasmania. The project, in partnership with the Tasmanian Aboriginal Centre, produced probability, percent cover, and binary presence maps for seagrass, macroalgae, and sand. Data was last updated on 2026-07-13 and is hosted by the Australian Ocean Data Network.
