Description
2329 specimens belonging to 261 macroalgal taxa were collected from the littoral and sublittoral zones around Santa Maria Island. The inventory, led by Ana I. Neto from Universidade dos Açores, includes 152 Rhodophyta, 43 Chlorophyta, and 66 Ochrophyta, with 52 new records for the island. This work improves knowledge of the Azorean macroalgal flora at local and regional scales.
