Description
2014-2015 data includes measured and modelled dissolved organic carbon (DOC) concentrations, measured chlorophyll concentration, pH, and conductivity for UK freshwater ecosystems and experimental mesocosms. The dataset contains samples collected at set intervals throughout the year from natural sites and simulated lake environments.
Use Cases
Compare measured DOC concentration against modelled DOC concentration derived from UV-visible absorbance spectra to validate spectroscopic models.
Analyze chlorophyll concentration trends in relation to pH and conductivity measurements across UK freshwater sites.
Investigate seasonal patterns in DOC and chlorophyll concentration from mesocosm experiments simulating natural lake ecosystems.
Strengths
Data covers a defined 2014-2015 time range for temporal analysis.
Includes both field measurements from UK freshwater ecosystems and controlled mesocosm experiment data.
Contains multiple interrelated water quality variables: DOC, chlorophyll, pH, and conductivity.
Limitations
Unknown sample size (row count) limits assessment of statistical power.
Data is over 8 years old, which may not reflect current environmental conditions.
Geographic coverage is limited to UK freshwater sites.
