Description
England and Wales data contains time series observations of sensible heat (H) and latent heat (LE) fluxes, meteorological data, and soil physics from six eddy covariance flux tower sites. The dataset includes measurements from three croplands, one grassland, one lowland fen, and one upland raised bog, collected between January 2023 and January 2024. Vegetation data such as canopy height, leaf area index, and biomass were also manually recorded.
Use Cases
Model land-atmosphere carbon dioxide exchange using sensible heat (H) and latent heat (LE) flux time series.
Analyze soil physics data correlations with energy and water exchange measurements across different peat and mineral soil sites.
Investigate vegetation impacts by incorporating manual canopy height, leaf area index, and biomass measurements into flux analysis.
Compare meteorological conditions and flux dynamics between the six distinct site types (cropland, grassland, fen, bog).
Strengths
Data collected from six distinct eddy covariance flux tower sites across England and Wales.
Includes manual vegetation measurements (canopy height, leaf area index, biomass) alongside automated flux and meteorological data.
Covers a defined 12-13 month time range from January 2023 to January 2024.
Limitations
Dataset size, row count, and specific column structure are unknown, limiting immediate analytical planning.
Temporal coverage is limited to one year, restricting analysis of long-term trends or seasonal cycles.
Geographic scope is confined to six specific sites in England and Wales, not representative of broader regions.
