Lake Victoria Basin Soil and Nutrient Erosion Model Predictions, 2000-2022

Environmental Information Data Centre provides modelled predictions of soil erosion impacts on nitrogen and phosphorus dynamics in the Lake Victoria Basin. The dataset includes raster maps at 90-meter resolution and aggregated sub-catchment vector data for the years 2000, 2005, 2010, 2015, and 2022, covering a 196,883 sq. km catchment area.

Use Cases

• Analyze spatial patterns of soil nutrient balances using modelled nitrogen and phosphorus loads from fertiliser, manure, and atmospheric deposition.
• Assess relative changes in total sediment and nutrient exports to water aggregated per sub-catchment over the five modelled years.
