MODIS Derived Primary Productivity Hotspots in Australian Waters, 2002-2014

NASA's MODIS satellite imagery processed with SeaDAS software indicates long-term primary productivity hotspots in ocean surface waters. Monthly chlorophyll a images from July 2002 to August 2014 cover the entire Australian Exclusive Economic Zone and surrounding southern ocean. The dataset provides a value between 0 and 1.0 representing the likelihood of a location being a productivity hotspot, supported by the National Environmental Science Program.
