MODIS Derived Primary Productivity Hotspots for Australian Waters, 2002-2014

Monthly chlorophyll a images from July 2002 to August 2014 were processed using NASA's SeaDAS to identify long-term primary productivity hotspots in ocean surface waters. The dataset covers the entire Australian Exclusive Economic Zone and surrounding southern ocean waters. Each location has a value between 0 and 1.0 representing the likelihood of being a productivity hotspot, supported by the National Environmental Science Program Marine Biodiversity Hub.
