MODIS satellite data from July 2002 to August 2014 maps the likelihood of primary productivity hotspots in Australian EEZ and surrounding waters. Derived from monthly chlorophyll a images processed with NASA's SeaDAS software, the dataset provides a long-term overview of ocean surface productivity patterns. The research was supported by the National Environmental Science Program Marine Biodiversity Hub.
