MODIS Derived Primary Productivity: Seasonal Hotspots for Australian Waters, 2002-2014

Monthly chlorophyll a images from July 2002 to August 2014 were processed to identify seasonal primary productivity hotspots in ocean surface waters. The dataset covers the entire Australian Exclusive Economic Zone and surrounding waters, including the southern ocean. It was derived from MODIS (Aqua) satellite images using NASA's SeaDAS software and supported by the National Environmental Science Program (NESP) Marine Biodiversity Hub.
