Ocean Primary Productivity Hotspots Across Australian EEZ 2002-2014

MODIS satellite data processed with NASA SeaDAS identifies seasonal primary productivity hotspots in Australian and Southern Ocean waters from July 2002 to August 2014. The dataset provides a likelihood value between 0 and 1.0 for each location being a hotspot, segmented into austral winter, spring, summer, and autumn. This research was supported by the National Environmental Science Program (NESP) Marine Biodiversity Hub.

Use Cases

• Map seasonal primary productivity hotspot likelihood across the Australian EEZ to identify recurring biological zones.
