MODIS Derived Primary Productivity: Seasonal Hotspots for Australian Waters, 2002-2014

Monthly chlorophyll a images from July 2002 to August 2014 were processed to identify seasonal primary productivity hotspots in ocean surface waters. The dataset, derived from NASA MODIS (Aqua) imagery using SeaDAS software, covers the entire Australian Exclusive Economic Zone and surrounding waters. It provides a value between 0 and 1.0 representing the likelihood of a location being a productivity hotspot for each austral season.
