Daily global maps of near-infrared black-sky albedo are produced using 16 days of combined Terra and Aqua MODIS satellite data. The National Aeronautics and Space Administration provides this Climate Modeling Grid product at a 30 arc second (1,000 meter) resolution, with data temporally weighted to the ninth day of each 16-day period. Version 6.1 incorporates improvements to calibration, including response-versus-scan angle adjustments and polarization corrections.
Files are in specialized formats (BIN, PDF, ISO, HTML) and each product contains just one data layer due to large file size. Users are urged to consult the provided user guide and known issues website for proper application.
