Description
31 separate 12-hour observations from the Molonglo Observatory Synthesis Telescope were combined into a single image with 62 arcsec x 43 arcsec resolution. The catalog presents 843-MHz radio sources, their ATLAS counterparts, and spectral index distributions in the ELAIS-S1 field, created by the NASA HEASARC in January 2013. It investigates spectral index trends with flux density and redshift, and includes an initial sample of faint compact steep-spectrum sources.
Use Cases
Analyzing spectral index distribution as a function of flux density based on the catalog's primary investigation.
Studying the correlation between spectral index and redshift for sources with reliable redshifts as mentioned in the reference paper.
Identifying and characterizing faint compact steep-spectrum radio sources from the initial sample presented.
Cross-matching 843-MHz sources with their Australia Telescope Large Area Survey (ATLAS) counterparts provided in the catalog.
Strengths
Data is derived from 31 separate 12-hour observations combined for improved signal.
Spatial resolution is specified as 62 arcsec x 43 arcsec.
Catalog includes spectral index distributions and ATLAS counterpart information.
Limitations
Row count is unknown, which may limit suitability assessment.
Column-level documentation is absent; field semantics must be inferred after download.
