Description
Yajing Zhao's dataset contains multi-tracer data supporting a groundwater flow study in a bedrock mountain area of southwestern China. The 1.9 GB collection includes 16S rRNA sequences, groundwater physicochemical parameters, stable water isotopes (δ²H, δ¹⁸O), ³H and ¹⁴C measurements, precipitation isotopes, microbial community composition, and calculated flow velocities. All samples were collected from a 4-km tunnel and the dataset was last updated on 2026-05-28.
Use Cases
Characterizing groundwater flow paths and velocities based on isotopic and hydrochemical tracer data.
Analyzing microbial community composition in groundwater based on 16S rRNA sequence data.
Modeling groundwater recharge and age distribution based on tritium (³H) and radiocarbon (¹⁴C) measurements.
Investigating relationships between groundwater chemistry and microbial ecology mentioned in the description.
Strengths
Integrates multiple tracer types (isotopic, hydrochemical, microbial) for a multi-faceted analysis.
All samples were collected from a spatially defined 4-km tunnel, providing a controlled study transect.
Dataset is 1.9 GB in size, indicating a substantial volume of raw sequence and measurement data.
Limitations
Column-level documentation is absent; field semantics must be inferred after download.
Row count is unknown, which may limit suitability assessment for specific modeling tasks.
The geographic scope is limited to a single tunnel in southwestern China.
