Description
Gil Martín, Manuel's Multi-view Leap2 Hand Pose Dataset (ML2HP Dataset) is a resource for hand pose recognition, captured using two Leap Motion Controller 2 devices. It contains 714,000 instances of 17 different hand poses, recorded from 21 subjects, and includes real images with 247 associated hand properties like landmark coordinates and velocities. The dataset was last updated on October 14, III.
Use Cases
Training hand pose recognition models based on multi-view image data to mitigate occlusion.
Developing continuous hand tracking systems based on landmark coordinates and velocities.
Benchmarking gesture recognition algorithms based on a balanced set of 17 hand poses from multiple subjects.
Researching multimodal fusion techniques based on combined image and tabular hand property data.
Strengths
Contains 714,000 instances, providing a substantial volume of data.
Includes data from 21 subjects, likely offering diversity in hand characteristics.
Provides 247 associated hand properties per instance, such as landmark coordinates and velocities.
Uses a multi-view recording setup with two devices, which may help reduce occlusion issues.
Limitations
Column-level documentation is absent; field semantics must be inferred after download.
Row count is unknown, which may limit suitability assessment.
The dataset's license is unspecified, which could restrict usage.
