270 survey responses from people who self-identified as Māori and/or had Māori ancestors were used to validate a proposed six-dimensional model of identity. The Multi-dimensional Model of Māori Identity and Cultural Engagement (MMM-ICE) is a Likert-type self-report instrument developed by Carla Houkamau at the University of Auckland. It assesses dimensions including Group Membership Evaluation, Socio-Political Consciousness, and Spirituality.
