NASADEM provides global elevation data at 1 arc second spacing, derived primarily from the Shuttle Radar Topography Mission (SRTM) flown in February 2000. The dataset covers land between 60° N and 56° S latitude, accounting for approximately 80% of Earth's landmass. It was produced by NASA's LP DAAC using SRTM telemetry supplemented by ASTER GDEM and ICESat GLAS ground control points.
Data is distributed in 1 degree by 1 degree tiles; users must mosaic tiles for large-area analysis. The corresponding NASADEM_NUMNC product is required to identify the source of each elevation pixel.
