Approximately 1.8 million gravity observations, including nearly 1.4 million ground stations and over 450,000 line km of airborne surveys, were used to generate this national grid. The dataset measures variations in gravitational acceleration to reveal subsurface geological structures across Australia and its offshore regions. It represents a multi-decade compilation of data from government, industry, and research sources, processed into a raster with a cell size of approximately 435 meters.
Data is provided in gravity units (gu, or µm/s²). The primary access formats are geospatial web services (WMS, WCS) and NetCDF. The listed future 'last updated' date may be a platform artifact.
