U.S. mortality data from the National Center for Health Statistics (NCHS) tracks age-adjusted death rates and life expectancy at birth from 1900 to 2017. The dataset includes breakdowns by Race and Sex, with death rates calculated per 100,000 using standard population methods. Data is sourced from the CDC/NCHS National Vital Statistics System and CDC WONDER.
Age-adjusted death rates prior to 1999 are from historical data and use different calculation standards than later years.
