Description
Gippsland and the broader Bass Strait region are the focus of an inventory of approximately 250 data records for 15 priority seabirds, shorebirds, and marine mammals. The project, conducted by CSIRO under the NESP Marine and Coastal Hub in 2023-2024, identified datasets on tracking, banding, diet, and species distribution to support offshore renewable energy assessment. The inventory was compiled through workshops, surveys, and literature searches involving 30 data holders.
