Description
A pilot sub-catchment scale monitoring, modelling, and extension program designed to support reef water quality improvement. The project, managed by the Australian Ocean Data Network, was conducted from 2015 to 2016. It involved workshops, risk assessments, and pilot implementation with farmers to identify pollutant hotspots and test extension program designs.
Use Cases
Identifying pollutant 'spikes/hotspots' in reef catchments based on monitoring and modelling programs mentioned in the description.
Designing and evaluating agricultural extension programs based on pilot study findings and farmer feedback.
Developing and trialing market-based instruments like nutrient trading based on evidence from program implementation.
